CHEF/BBQ PIT MASTER

At Bluegrass BBQ, we are all about creating an exciting & fun BBQ experience customers crave, with the real flavours and the famous hospitality of the Southern States. With our award-winning BBQ, slow smoked food and our specially imported smokers we ensure 'low 'n' slow' deliciousness, in our friendly and fast-paced smokehouse restaurant.

We have a proper kitchen where nothing is frozen and there is not a microwave in the building! We are passionate about our food and encourage all of the team to be involved with the menu.

about the role

Your role will include:

  • Running a station during service (and open and closing a station)

  • Prepping of veg, making sauces, fries etc

  • Receiving deliveries and liaising with the other restaurants

  • Managing stock and wastage

  • Following and delivering high food safety standards

 

You'll be trained in all areas of our operations through a full induction and on the job training. Previous experience in a busy high volume prep kitchen would be great, but if you've got the right attitude, enthusiasm and ability, we can do the rest.

​You will be expected to work weekends and to apply for the position you must be legally able to work in the UK/EU.

We are at present looking for an Assistant Manager to support our General Manager by leading and managing our lovely front of house team. We are ideally looking for candidates who:

  • Has 1-2 years experience in working in a high volume restaurant as an assistant manager

  • Has the ability to manage and motivate a team

  • Experience in training and developing staff

  • Is passionate about customer service and ready to work in a fast-paced, dynamic restaurant

  • Has a love for great food & exceptional service - with a desire to progress, learn and work hard

  • Thrives on being part of a first class team with exceptional standards of operations, cleanliness, safety, service & teamwork

  • Looking to progress to a great General Manager

wHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Being a host at Bluegrass, communicating with guests and ensuring that they get a great customer experience

  • organising the restaurant team: their tasks, schedules and information meetings

  • Assist the General Manager in staff management: recruitment, training, evaluation and promotion

  • Monitor, review and improve customer service levels

  • Ensure the quality of service and service provision

  • Take full responsibility for the Restaurant during allocated shifts

  • Maximise restaurant occupancy at all times

  • Increase restaurant sales and minimise costs at all times
